Khadi is a very strong albino-guy from a small village in Senegal. It’s hard to tell how difficult the life of albino person in Africa is. It’s getting worse in the rural areas without medical help. With the lack of education and knowledge about proper care albino kids are in danger. Ultraviolet rays are deadly for them, but sunscreen in this area costs like a fortune and is almost impossible to get. According to statistics, most of albino people in Africa die from skin cancer before reaching 40 y.o.

Khadi was very dedicated to studying and every day since childhood he walked more than 10 kilometers to school under the scorching sun. When a mole has appeared on his face nobody pays much attention to it. It starts growing so fast with the lack of treatment and care.

The verdict was skin cancer. The increasing mole on one day literally burns half of his face. The guy can’t even speak.
Khadim Story
Khadime's relatives sold everything they had tried to save the son’s life. Сhemotherapy has started. All medical help in Senegal is paid, and when Khadi’s family ran out of money doctors just sent him back home. Sent to die.

When mila found him he was nearly dead, pale, almost gray, almost with no chance of survival. Mila took him to an orphanage in Dakar and long treatments with chemo & radiotherapy started.

Khadim was very brave, and after 2 years of very difficult treatment he beat the cancer.
Treatment & recovery:
Now he is alive, and cancer free. But his fight isn’t over. Due to damage caused by cancer, there is a need for further surgeries: restoration of skin bones, skin and eye.
